In this article, we will introduce our next topic: how the future of fashion, in terms of sustainability and the model of consumption, is going to look like.
According to the 2020 Approaching The Future report, we find ourselves at a moment of complete change, especially with regard to the “Reformulation of capitalism in the age of purpose”, as consumers demand greater co-responsibility from companies in order for them to generate both economic and social value. Likewise, "Committed brands, brands that stand out" is an absolutely important position for companies, especially in the fashion sector: a highly polluting industry with great weight in society.
In this respect, we strongly believe that the fashion industry is at a time of necessary change, especially due to the rise of the sustainability and inclusion movement, which has resulted in a society and, consequently, consumers with strong values in terms of consumption. This situation has made consumers more consistent than ever with their actions and the way they consume, which has made them demand responsibility and commitment from brands.
In our next articles, we are going to focus on how the fashion industry is changing in order to answer the consumers’ demands and their values: sustainability, inclusivity, change of their behaviour, etc.
