REFLECTION

In the previous articles we have dealt with some of the different topics of the report Approaching the Future. These ones are “Future of the consumption model”, “Sustainability” and “Inclusivity”. To finish talking about these topics, in this article we will make a summary of them.

Firstly, in relation to the topic of the future of the consumption model, in previous articles we talked about two sub-themes of the report on which we based this blog. On the one hand, “reformulating capitalism in the age of purpose”, This means the fact that society is increasingly moving away from capitalism and impulse buying. Focusing on the fashion sector, this is becoming noticeable because people value quality and a good production process in the textile products they buy.

This is why the following sub-theme is "Committed brands, brands that differentiate”, which we treat with two examples of fashion brands that are adapting to what society demands and differentiate themselves with actions that go against the capitalist movements.

The next topic is “Sustainability” which gave us a lot to talk about and was very interesting to discuss. The reason is that it is something current in society, every time we try to be more and more aware of the evil we do to the environment with many activities.

The fashion sector is not left behind doing actions to help the environment or directly, more and more sustainable brands are emerging that sell products that support the care of the environment. An example of sustainable fashion brands we talked about earlier in the blog are Ecoalf and Stella Mccartney.

To sum up, we wanted to focus on how brands adapt their actions to new forms of communication. In the fashion sector innovation is relevant to move forward and to connect with their audience. It is also important for them to communicate through innovative actions that manage to reach their consumers more directly. With different examples we wanted to capture this so that our readers would know some of the different actions that are taking place today.
